Message from the Commander
America’s military advantage depends not only on the strength of its Soldiers, but also the strength of the industrial capabilities that equip and sustain them. For more than two centuries, Watervliet Arsenal has preserved one of America’s irreplaceable manufacturing capabilities, providing the precision, quality, and innovation that help ensure our Army remains ready for tomorrow’s challenges.
It’s a privilege to serve alongside the remarkable professionals whose expertise, craftmanship, and commitment have earned this institution its reputation for excellence.
Our products are forged from steel, but the trust they represent is built by people. Every engineer, machinist, artisan, technician, inspector, and support professional contributes to capabilities upon which Soldiers depend. That commitment to precision, quality, and reliability is what makes Watervliet Arsenal a trusted part of our nation’s defense.
While our history is a source of pride, it is also a responsibility. We are modernizing our facilities, advancing manufacturing, and investing in the next generation of skilled professionals so this unique national capability remains ready for the future.
We have inherited a capability our Nation has relied upon for more than two centuries. Our responsibility is to leave it stronger than we found it, for the Soldiers who depend on it today and the generations who will depend on it tomorrow.
COL Danilo A. Green
Commander, Watervliet Arsenal
